Salisbury Museum

I created this 1775 men's court dress in response to an item held in the Salisbury Museum collection, which will form part of their 2024 exhibition 'Fashioning Our World'. This display looks into sustainability throughout historical costume, with examples of reusing and recycling, to items of extreme unsustainable value, such as those made of fur.

To match the theme of the exhibition, I wanted to make my costume from recycled materials, using scraps and deadstock to piece together the coat and waistcoat in a sustainable way. All together, this suit cost £66.45.
