1947 Dior

This 1947, 'New Look' inspired coat was created to investigate the outcome of Dior's 'Corolle' silhouette on plus-sized bodies. The garment stood as a test of technical tailoring, demanding the stiffened structure of Dior with an effortless look. It also required precise sculpture to fit the form, relying solely on the cut of the pattern - and no darts - to form the shape. On a curvy body, this proved challenging but deeply satisfying with the end result.
